We LDS singles have varying situations at home. Some who have never married live alone. Some live with roommates. Some are single parents living with children. Others are divorced or widowed living alone or with other family members.
Whatever your situation at home, the COVID-19 pandemic crisis has introduced a new "crisis" for many LDS singles -- how to handle church. No longer can we rely on others to develop a Sunday program each week that we simply go and attend. Now we must develop the Sunday program we follow each week in our own homes. |
Home-centered church services
That's where Joy in the Journey Radio is coming to help. Because Joy in the Journey Radio exists to help LDS singles live their best life, we are providing a resource that can help ease your burden in this area. On this page you will find suggested home-centered church programs and ideas that you can implement in your own home each week.
By providing this resource, we simply intend to ease the burden of preparing a program for each Sunday. Please feel free to adjust any or all portions of the suggested programs as you see fit. In fact, we highly encourage all to follow the guidance of the Spirit in preparing the program they will follow each Sunday. |
Resources
The Church provides many helpful resources to help all develop their own Sunday worship service. One resource that has been found particularly helpful to the suggested programs provided here is the Gospel Topics section of the Gospel Library app. From the Library home screen, you can access Gospel Topics by going to Topics --> Gospel Topics. Here you will find an alphabetical listing of gospel-related topics that each contain multiple resources (videos, audio clips, articles, links to various Church manuals, hymns and songs for children, scriptural references, and more) that can easily help you fill a program that meets the needs of your household, whether you live by yourself or with others and whether you are young or old or somewhere in between.
Again, the Sunday church programs provided here are just suggestions. Feel free to use them as given or adapt them to your own needs using the resources the Church provides. Circumstances may necessitate differences in practice, but they need not demand a decrease of spirituality in our worship services.

Suggested Sunday programs
Below are links to pages on the Joy in the Journey Radio website listing resources for suggested programs for Sunday home-centered church services for LDS singles. As noted above, feel free to adjust any of these programs to fit your own needs.
Because most wards and branches had either resumed in-person services and/or started online services by the start of September 2020, suggestions for weeks following the first week in September 2020 do not appear. However, the programs assembled and linked below remain a testament to the desire of Joy in the Journey Radio to help LDS singles everywhere.
