Synopsis
Part 1
The added strength in Conference counters the increasing wickedness in the world — Our host has had fewer perplexing questions at Conference time as he gets older — Should he be concerned? — Conference is a building block in the life of the active Latter-day Saint — If we approach Conference without a plan, we’ll likely just go through the motions and not get much out of it — How do we prepare so that we get more out of Conference? — Our host shares some recent experiences with scripture study and especially those about fasting
Part 2
Our host will miss hearing multiple times from Elder Uchtdorf during Conference — He reads and discusses an article by then President Uchtdorf in 2011 about preparing for Conference — We should be looking for what the Prophet has to say to us today — What did President say in the last Conference? — It’s one thing to be grateful for blessings and want to thank God, but it’s another to want to be closer when you thank Him — We should expect to find our answers anywhere — We need to plan for including Conference in our lives during the six months in between and not just in preparing for it
Part 3
Preparing for Conference is individualized, so the answers to how we each prepare will be individualized — We all should expect not to find the perfect approach all at once — Failure usually precedes success — Good foundations take preparation — If you don’t know how you will prepare, partner with the Lord to get an answer — Far too many of us live beneath our privileges — We can have more if we do what’s needed
